Winter Concert at Senior Activity Center
On November 5, 2024 - Election Day, Laura Hu of Golf with Purpose organized a holiday concert at Xilin Senior Activity Center.
Seven high school and middle school students from Northbrook showed their citizenship through a special performance and brought joy and entertainment to the seniors. The event was reported by Chicago Chinese News and Chinese of Chicago newspaper as one of the top events of the week (http://www.chineseofchicago.com/Content.aspx?nid=29451).
Concert Performers
Five high school students from GBN (Glenbrook North High School) and two middle schoolers from Maple Middle School participated in the program. The performance featured a mix of poem reading, solo instrumental pieces (saxophone and flute), magic show, singing, modern dance and short theatrical skits that were warmly received by the audience. The performance also showcased their unique talents and enthusiasm for community service.

Fundraising for IJGA
In October 2024, Laura Hu helped IJGA (Illinois Junior Golf Association) raise $500 to support its mission of providing financial aid to under privileged families for golf tournaments.
